abs light

i have a ford scorpio ultima my abs light has come on i have checked the breaks they are working alright and i have checked the fuses they are fine but the light will not go out. the mot is due and i have been told they can fail the car if the abs light is on. can anyone help.

Basically yeah it will fail the MOT if the lights on when it shouldn't be.

You need to interrogate the onboard ECU/Emu pends what ford call theirs this week ..... Yo don't have to have special tools/electronics to do this ...... Read up.

Whats happening is the ABS system is failing its pleminary checks, & whilst the Light is on the ABS isn't working. It usually is either a dickky connection, dodgy relay, Cracked/broken/missing ABS ring ....... Or a sensor...... I dunno how much ford charge for their sensors, but expect around £150 ea

So go & do some auto diagnostics & ket us know what ya find :D
 
Just for info, my air bag sensor came on. Ford charged £80 to diagnoise £ then I think it was about £100 to replace it. It aint cheap, especialy when its the sensor that fails & not the actual part that will do the work.
