hi guys my fist post here so here goes

i have recently bought a house which i rented previously for a few years and the alarm was rarley used.

i recently installed a light in the garden which meant i had powered off the light circuit MCB for a couple of hours. On turning the MCB back on we noticed an alarm going off which was coming from the keypad, normally we would just enter the code and any alarms would have cleared, but not on this occasion i could not get the alarm to silence, all i could do as it was late in the evening was to remove the cover off the main control panel and disconnect the battery and power supply.

next day i looked on here and found a reset procedure which i followed and managed to get the alarm to clear with the defaul code 0123. All good, i did notice that the battery had a date of 2001 on it so i decided to out a new one in.

Ok to the issue, when i defaulted the alarm does that mean all the zone config has gone and anything else gone, there are only 7 of 8 zones labelled in the keypad and only 7 wired in the panel, looking around the house there are 7 PIR's, i have now disabledzone 8 for the alarm to funciton correctly as it does not exist? is there anything else i need to do following the default being enabled.

the remote keypad appears to be healthy and no alarms the power and day light are lit, all appers to be healty.

Now the next issue when i fitted the new battery i noticed the 1A fuse was missing from the sounder/strobe, i therefore put in a fuse and the external sounder started blasting away but no strobe. i went to the RKP and everything was as expected, there was no alarm to accept and the siren just kept going off. i also noticed in the control panel as well as the wiring in the TA terminals there was also a link in place, which i am guessing is attempting to link out the tamper return circuit, but not sure if this is causing the issue, i have tried to remove the link but i get a tamper led on the RKP which cannot be cleared.

i have had to remove the fuse again to manage to stop in blasting out but this means the alarm although appearing normal and in a healthy condition, is render useless as it will not sound.

If anyone can help here it would be really appreciated.

Have you done a walk test on your pirs to see if they work fine?

The bell box doesn't appear to be wired correctly , the link should not be in so that might mean the tamper switches are not pushed in correctly , it could also be there's water in the bell box

You need to take pictures of the wiring of the bell box and where it connects in the control panel.

If the strobe has failed then it means a new bellbox would be beneficial

Hi thanks for the reply

i have just completed the walk test and all good on all 7 zones.

also see attached images on the control panel
