I can't seem to get the sensors to light up. Do the sensors need the zone wiring to be connected before they light up when you walk pass?

I did wire the sensors to the the 13v and 0v terminal but doesn't light up when I wave at the sensor.

Is there a cheap piece of kit I can check which sensors I have wired in and which I haven't? I have a multimeter but the leads are not long enough

Can I put the red and black into a strip connector then put my meter across the appropriate terminals in the sensor? That should give me continuity right?

Why would you do that?
Is the panel powered?
Are all the detectors wired?
Why not wire them in and use your multimeter?

Why will the meter not reach?

I've solved it now. I think I had a short within the panel. It tripped the fuse protecting the 13v supply.

You have to be carefull when wiring aux powered detectors while the system is powered up, i have done it with my massive hands when wiring new PIRs the spark on the red & black usually gives me the indication i have blown the fuse :D

yeah I've did again today because I was rushing so I didn't trim down the cable. So I blow the fuse because I had to trim it down
