I have come across and ACT access system this week with Videx door entry. Now all the others sites are PAC so went without a hitch.

I didnt have a diargram for the thing (have one now) so ended up popping the fuse a few times whilst experimenting.

Now the question I have is can extra door readers be run over the network interface on a ACTpro 2000 controller as there appears to be 2 doors and a gate running from the "2" door controller and there are also RTE buttons on each but in the controller there are no connections into the RTE terminals..... Could they be radio RTEs and how can I tell if there are radio devices? (I couldnt get the metal covers off the front as I think they have been glued in place!!!! to see if there are wires behind...

failing that there must be a riser on site that I havent found yet full of ACT control gear!!!!

Thanks in advance

Rob

Up to 16 doors on that controller.

Existing "RTE" could be from an output not the actual connectors if you see what I mean.
Only interfaced with these with a GD-550 Galaxy, but you can use a PC to interrogate if you have one.
This would give you all the programming options and a better clue of what is going on.

No PC required.
All the info needed is available direct off the 2000 using keypad and lcd.

The 2000 has 2 door 'built in'. These can take upto an additional 14 doors.
Check the programming, all in there.

What were you doing to keep 'popping' the fuse?? These panels are pretty self explanatory to use - every plug/pin labelled.

Cheers m8, as i said only interfaced with one, never programmed it.
Obvious really as it is stand alone the LCD should give the details.

That's one of the big advantages of these panels. Everything can be done without the PC. So you can have a fully operational and tested system in play before the customer moves in and the IT kit available.
Also a godsend on service/repair.

Slap on wrist time too, meant a GD-520.

But I do like ACT equipment, also good sales and backup.

just an update. i found the 2 door controllers on the door network shoved above a ceiling half way down a corridor. all the connections were in there woot woot.

Nice one, found some similar once.
Actually screwed to the ceiling, opened the panel and was hit in the face by the stand by battery.

All retained with cable ties now as we were not allowed to move the controllers :D
Also written on warning of the fact.
