Actor and director Lionel Jeffries dies, aged 83

He was my favourite character in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang where he played the grandfather. I was watching an interview with Dick Van Dyke a few years ago and Dick explained that although Lionel Jeffries played the part of his father in the movie, Lionel was actually a few months YOUNGER than Dick!

Another good one gone.
I don't think he got the recognition he deserved for all the work he put into the business and the joy he brought to so many.
He will be missed by a huge fan base, especially in theatre.
