Add a new door contact to veritas r8

[houstonwehaveaproblem]

I have a cable in place for a new door contact.

The cable is coiled up by the control panel.

I would like the new contact to be on the same zone as the room pir.

Should the cable come out of the control panel terminals for the new contact or the room pir? Does it matter?

depends on what your using it for I guess

as for how to wire it, just needs to be in series for the alarm and tamper circuits if in use.

New contact to protect single garage door and also be walk in zone to start the timer. Currently has pir in room which is on walk in zone

The zone wiring has the global tamper circuit connected

Have you a spare zone on control panel ?

zone x terminal 1 ----------------- Alarm terminal 1 PIR
Alarm terminal 2 PIR ------- back to zone x terminal 2

becomes

zone x terminal 1 ----------------- Alarm terminal 1 PIR
Alarm terminal 2 PIR --------contact reed terminal 1
contact reed terminal 2--------back to zone x terminal 2

No they are all in use
