Hi all

Looking for some advice that I'm going about this the right way please. We have a keypad next to a door that I want to put a contact on. Six core cable runs to the panel with two cores spare, so my plan is to use a junction box on the two spare cores and wire up the contact, then connect the two spare cores at the panel to an empty zone. Is this the right way of doing this?

Also to wire up to the panel do I put in hold off mode then disconnect mains and the battery?

Thanks for any help

Take door cable into keypad join inside , the contact won't have a tamper but if it's a diy domestic it won't matter , do you have the engineer code for a start ? If so put in programming take lid off wire to spare zone and program

Thanks for the quick reply. Is best way to join up just twisting and tape then or would you solder?

I've got the engineer code but do I need to disconnect power and battery?

What's disconnecting the battery going to achieve ? May give you a bit more room in the panel to work ...but that's all
