Hi,

I've had this gate for years, but it doesn't have anywhere to add a latch to it. Any ideas on what I could buy or do to make this close? Currently, it swings open onto the pavement.

I don't mind adding batons or other helpful devices to to the side walls (as long as they don't look hideous) and I don't mind changing the existing latch part which is on the side wall.

p.s: I know the existing wooden baton needs changing as it's rotten

you could add batons to the walls, with the opening side bigger so it stops the gate swinging past the boundary.
If you have access to a welder, add a new edge with latch.
If no welder, then heating a metal bar to fold two ends over would allow you to drill and bolt something on.
