Heres a pic of the problem area. Its a Ikea kitchen and we are happy with it, but are replacing the cooker with a built in oven and a gas hob.

We have bought the built in oven cabinet from Ikea, which fits in the gap width ways. We also have bought 620mm new Ikea worktops.

The problem is, the depth of the area within the old chimney breast, where the built in oven/hob will go is not as deep as the rest of the kitchen.

This means the new oven cabinet will stick out, a bit like the current oven does. Its about 30mm.

How can I do this to make it look ok?

Hope this all makes sense

If the chimney is still open at the top, you could cut 30mm off the oven housing & push it back against the chimney after having removed a couple of bricks & fitting a vet.
As long as there is airflow round the oven, it is usually from front to back & the cabinet is designed as a chimney. Hope that is clear

As mentioned, built in ovens are not as deep as freestanding [got a 40mm pipe running behind one] so you should be able to cut back cup'd as suggested.

As long as you get ventilation, in at the bottom out at the top, you should be ok.
The cabinet is made for worst case scenario, ie hot day oven on full & grill or 2nd oven.
If it is a single oven all will be well.
