I have just added some Salamander inhibitor to my combi system. I am a bit concerned that I have messed something up. The instructions said allow the system to cool before adding, and in my haste to get the job done I assumed this was so that you didn't scold yourself if you had to drain some water out. I had an empty radiator in the loop that had been replaced, so I just added the inhibitor to that, turned on the filling loop, bled, job done.
In hindsight I am started to wonder whether letting the system cool had another benefit, possibly how hot water reacts with neat inhibitor, does it kind of coagulate? The rad is getting warm, but there is a strong smell of inhibitor so I am a bit concerned - no leaks though. I am being overly paranoid.
Thanks
