Hi

Looking to fit some recessed lights into the main bathroom and the en-suite. Not sure yet if these will be low voltage ones or work from mains voltage.

Am I ok to fit these myself, or do I need a qualified electrician to fit. Does "Part P" come into force here??

Thank you

Thanks. Does that mean I can only fit lights which are IP rated?

Part P applies to all electrical work carried out in domestic dwellings in England and Wales. Some work is notifiable, other work is not. Addition of lights in a bathroom (which is a special location) is notifiable to your LABC.
The most common method of compliance with Part P is to work to BS7671. This requires all items to be suitable for their environment. Certain areas of bathrooms require higher IP rated fittings than others.
