Hi if adding a smoke detector (say a Texecom Exodus ) to an elite 24 fitted with an pyronix twin alert sounder can the alarm sounder be omitted for an alarm and just have the internal sounder go off. don't want the street to get annoyed if i burn the toast or something ?
Thanks

if SAB output (bell trigger) is fired on fire alarm, I don't believe there is away to deactivate it.

so be looking at something complicated to bypass it I suspect.

If I was to attempt it I would take the bells trigger wire to an output assign a custom output.

where the SAB would activate only if a fire condition wasn't present.

so condition 1 SAB and condition 3 No fire. or zone x (fire zone) not active, or group if more than one smoke on the system, but would have to be tested.

Hi a bit more than switching a setting off, so will leave it for now.
Thanks

Every Alarm system that I have ever come across connected to both Fire & Intruder systems (which they should not be) used a different sound for each.

For example a continuous sound for the Intruder system and an intermittent sound for the Fire Alarm

The fire tones internal speakers are deffo different, the SAB for fire not sure.

Think the issue isn't the tone but external SAB firing when he Burns his toast.

That said can't remember how unarmed fire coms works, I know once over it was turned on to fire SAB when not armed but not sure it does that now but on sends fire signal off doesn't send signal to central station. Was a thread on here covering it.
