Adding texture to masonry paint

Applied some masonry paint to a wall on my house but finding the paint is too smooth and not matching up to the other walls. Searched up about adding texture by mixing some silica sand in with the paint but I can't seem to find anywhere to buy it other than online for a tiny bag. Is there any alternative type of sand I could use that could be purchased from any typical builders merchants?

I thought kiln dried sand was the same as silica. Maybe look that up.
