Hi - we have a 20foot x 15 foot flat room and another which is about the same size but has a 10-15% pitch. Neither room is insulated hence we have heat loss and can get noise from suirrels, cats and sea guls when they run around over the top of it. We would intend to replace the roof by keeping the existing (its in good condition) and putting in 170 or 200mm battens to raise the room by this amount so that we can insulate both roofs and then reboard and re-felt them. Is this feasible? Any pitfalls such as planning etc. Very grateful for any advice on this subject? Many thanks. Kind Regards.
