ADE Simple Set Fobs

My ADE Simple Set reader threw a wobbly this morning and has forgotten all of the fobs.

I've powered down and re-started the system and managed to re-learn two fobs. In theory with a known fob I should be able to learn further fobs by touching the known fob to the reader for 10 seconds to enter learn mode. However, I can only get the fob to set the system however long I hold it against the reader.

I really don't want to have to power down the system again - am I missing something silly?
