Hi all,

I'm working on a motorhome with a shower screen consisting of transparent (plastic?) panels fixed into an articulated aluminium frame with adhesive. It's possible that the aluminium frame in lined with something, though - either an original rubbery liner, the remains of the original adhesive or the remains of an adhesive someone has used in an attempted repair. Anyway, when I got to it, the panel had pulled out of the frame under its own weight and I went on a motorhome forum asking for adhesive recommendations. The clear winner was CT1 with several recommendations.

I put the panels back in with a small amount of CT1 - to avoid having to clean up loads of overspill. I left the adhesive to cure for 2 days. When I hung the screen the panel fell out pretty much straight away.

So I cleaned it up and did the job with plenty of CT1 and plenty of cleaning up messy overspill. I left the adhesive to cure for 2 days. When I hung the screen the panel fell out pretty much straight away.

So I'm looking for an alternative to CT1 - ideally a sealant as well as an adhesive as it's a shower screen.

Cheers,
Dave

Clear silicone? This allows for any differential expansion between metal and plastic.
