Daughter has asked me to tile her kitchen and I am getting the adhesive. She has bought metro tiles 200mm x 100mm. Is Bal Green Star suitable for this please?
I will not be working quickly so think I should avoid Bal White Star. I have read to avoid B&Q and but from a tile supplier.
I will also have to teach myself again how to do a 3 way mitre for the window reveal which I did about 10 years ago. Youtube action required for that although I think someone on here (possibly from Glasgow) made a good video on how to do that.
Thanks.

EDIT. Would Mapei ready mix from Screwfix be any good as the store is easy to get to but some reviews say it takes forever to set.

When I go to clients houses for a kitchen tiling, the main factor in deciding which adhesive to use is the state of the walls. If it's not banging flat in all directions ( i.e. there's some building up to do behind some tiles) then it's going to be proper mix it yourself powder cement adhesive. Greenstar ( or Whitestar ) is not suitable for any kind of layering/building up. Personally I find the powder adhesive a lot easier to work with; just make sure you buy it in White. You can mix small batches easily enough, and with ' slow set' you don't have to worry about the time.
Metros are not very forgiving if they're not put on flat, ' lippage' will stick out a mile away.
If you're not confident enough to do a 3 way mitre, then ditch the round trim and change it to the flat trim - it's much better looking and you just cut all ends square.

All ready mixed slop takes forever to set - it sets by drying out, which is rather difficult to achieve when it's sealed behind tiles.
Bigger tiles with less grout lines make this problem worse.

Agreed, the ready mixed stuff is paints, Powerbased is normally cement based and will cure overnight. Ready mixed might take days if thick.
