Hi,

1.What is the best type of adhesive for use on the walls? I have 10 squre meters of wall tiling to do, would i be better getting pre-mixed or would i be better getting powder?

What about the grout do i need a special type? waterproof? im getting light grey tiles, what colour would you recommend?

2. I have 4.5 square meters of floor tiling to do, I know i should use flexi and probably waterproof, which is the best to get and again should i get powdered or pre-mixed.

Do i just get the same brand of grout, but flexible?

Thanks

Andy

Small to med tiles you can use tub adhesive, larger ones need powdered.
If your walls are stud walls or dot and dab then you need flexi,if they are brick and render/skim you can use standard

Hi,

Thanks for your help so far, THE WIFE, has changed her mind slightly....... typically.

I now have a pile of Porcelain tiles at home.

1. The floor tiles are 600 X 300 Porcelain and will be fitted on ply lined floorboards with electric underfloor heating.

---- Can anyone recommend the BEST (in your opinion) adhesive for fitting these?

2. The wall tiles are also porcelain, size 330 x 200. they are to be fixed on plastered wall, both solid walls and stud wall, in a shower enclosure, around the bath and sink.

----- Can anyone recommend the BEST (in your opinion) adhesive for fitting these.

Until i looked into it i thought it would be just a case of buying anything of the shelve that says tile on walls, tile on floors, but it seems certain makes are better for porcelain, UFH, Shower areas etc.

i personally would use weber rapid sp for this job. its a flexible adhesive that only takes a few hours to dry.

are you tanking the wall for extra measure?

but even so i personally would use weber wr its a ready mix that is good for wet areas (even if most wont get wet its good for moisture) and power showers etc

unfortunatly like most jobs there are 100's of ranges and differences in the adhesives.
