Hi all. I'm in the process of buying a 1930's semis detached house and have had a level 3 survey done. There are cracks at the junction of the first floor bays to the main wall, both in the front and back bays. The surveyor has classified them as historical rotational movement and suggested fixing the front with helifix, nothing for the back. All cracks have been patched up but are still noticeable. The bottoms of the uPVC windows in those bays have curved outwards with the rotation of the bays.

Can the base/plinth be moved back into a vertical position to get rid of the curve in the windows, or will I need to get the window base moved back and reattached into a new position? Is this an expensive job?

How can I figure out if the cause of the movement is settlement of the bay or an issue with support for first floor bays? There aren't any cracks or distortion around the ground floor bays/windows.

What's the easiest non-intrusive way to figure out if the first floor bays are supported on joists or need support from the window frame/bay poles?

Thanks in advance!!
