Hi there,

We've seen a house for sale, it has been sitting idle and unfinished for the past 5 years.
It is water tight, roofed and windows in, but you can definitely tell that its been unoccupied, moss on the tiles and windows, grass in the gutters/drainpipes, flagstones weedy etc just grubby and, well, unfinished!

The builder will finish it when he finds a buyer, but over 5 years unoccupied I was wondering what problems might there be, will the plumbing be affected? what should i be looking out for or asking about replacing before he continues with the build??

Any advice before approaching the builder would be helpful.

Well if your interested in buying it, then the builder will likely have to finish the place before you sign on the dotted line...so just see what the survey comes back with once the builder has finished the works needed.
