Hi guys,
I have recently bought a new home and had the top half of the exterior painted (over the pebbledash) in a pale slate colour (bought from B&Q)...

I have also painted the edging of the brickwork around the door in a tile red.

My questions are - Should I paint the bottom half (over the breeze blocks) in the same colour as the top? I am debating if this would look odd, especially as the neighbouring houses do not have any of the bottom half painted.

Or would a contrasting colour look better?

If I did, would that hinder the breathability of the wall as it has cavity wall insulation?

Any advice, comments etc would be welcomed

The photo is before any painting took place.

Looks like nice decorative stone at the bottom not building blocks.
I'd never paint those

Looks like next door has original unpainted bricks around the windows and door.

What about removing the orange paint from the bricks, and leaving the bricks and stone natural, and just paint the render above a nice colour?
