Hi, this post is in regards to my fathers alarm which is an accenta+
My dad said that on his electric switchboard the switch for the front door bells is out but everytime he presses it in to turn the doorbell back on the alarm sounds and won't turn off, the keypad seems dead and i cannot turn it off via the code.
At the moment i have just left it with the switchboard switch out so it doesn't sound.
My uncle installed the alarm but no longer does this work now and also due to covid will not look at it, but he did tell me on the phone what i can do but i just wanted to be sure about the steps and i didn't want to bother him again about it.
My uncle said if i want to give it a go he thinks the problem should be fairly easy to fix and i could give it a go myself, he said something to do with the alarm being in a tamper mode?
He said something along the lines of push the switch in on the switchboard so that the alarm starts sounding then take the cover off the alarm panel and disconnect the battery.
Will this then stop the alarm from sounding?
He said then reconnect the battery and screw the panel back on then the alarm will reset and i should be able to put the code in and stop the alarm sounding and reset the panel back to normal?
Does this sound correct, i think they are the steps he said to use?
If so, is it easy disconnecting the battery, is it literally just unclipping one side as easy as that?
Thanks for any advice
James
