Hi,
I have moved into my first house and I am trying to fit a waste pipe for my dishwasher. Currently I have my washing machiene waste pipe (viewable in picture) and i am wondering how I should proceed. Any advice is much appreciated!!

My curent thoughts are whether to install a hose connector (single or double?) In the area marked in red arrow in the pictire (ie above washing machiene current waste pipe). If going single connector and keeping the current washing machiene waste pipe, would this be ok or should I be concerned about the dishwasher waste liquid flowing into the existing dishwasher waste pipe? If so is there a work around such as rotating the connector upwards perhaps to minimize this?

Thank you in advance!

What is that vertical piece doing currently? If it’s blanked off, you should be fine.
It has a "lid" on it which once removed reveals how the pipe seems to be connected to the same part as the washing machiene pipe. Will attach picture to see if this helps make sense.

Thank for the rapid response!

Can you post a photo of the “lid”? Just want to make sure it’s not an air admittance valve. You could probably get an appliance nozzle if it can be used.

Attaching 2 pics which hopefully answer your question. Unfortunately I am not well versed in plumbing stuff so my descriptions are probably crap

Cheers man, you've been great help! I will blank off the end which is currently being used and fit a twin hose connection (pictured) at the top and conect both the washing machiene and dish washer waste pipes
Not entirely sure that twin one will work, as your blank has a male thread and the McAlpine has a female socket. Unless, you trim the thread off so just pipe?

No idea how to trim thread off. Is there a twin one that would fit my male thread?

Otherwise, if I go with your flowaste nozzle from link above, how would the set up be? Do I just connect the part you linked above and keep the current washing machiene waste pipe as is? I assume no blanking off needed in this flowplast part right? Any concerns for waste from waste pipe above going into waste pipe from dishwasher (below) ?
