advice on sealing vinyl floor please

My sister and I have bought out first flat! We just had a vinyl floor fitted in the bathroom and the person that did it for us told us that they didn't seal it as part of their job and we should seal it ourselves.
We went to the local tool shop and they said we didn't need to seal it. However having seen a friends bathroom floor last night I could see sealant all around the edges!

Please let us know whether we should seal the floor and if you can recommend a good sealant?

are you sure he person doesn't just mean for you to put sealant arond the edge as opposed to seal the floor?

hi Breezer,

thanks for replying. Yes, that's right - he meant for us to put the sealant around the edges I'm presuming to stop water getting underneath the floor.
Is this normal and can you recommend a sealant?
