I have just moved into a small terraced house
Can anyone give me some idea if it's ok to take the wall out between the lobby and kitchen in the diagram below the floorboards upstairs run at right angles to the wall so the beams run parallel to it resting over the wall between the kitchen and lounge.
I think the wall above is just resting on the floorboards but I have yet to lift the flooring up to check.
Also the loft timbers run the same way so no load is resting on the bedroom wall above.
So so far it looks like it's not a load bearing wall ?
If everything checks out that it's not load bearing is it ok to just remove it myself or do I need to involve building control ?

But do I need building control ?
And the wall above is built on the floorboards upstairs so I'm assuming it's ok to remove this lower wall without the need for a rsj as it looks like the upper floor will take the load above as this is the case with the bathroom wall over the lounge.
The beams run from the front to the rear and are resting on the wall between the kitchen and lounge.
Please note that the dimensions shown on the plan are not 100% accurate but not far out.
