Hi,
I have just had a window fitter cut out the brick, install internal and external lintels and fit a new uPVC window along with cavity closures along the bottom of the window and down the sides.
I offered to sort out the internal window reveals myself as l'm planning on having the whole room skimmed in the new year so l didn't see the point in paying extra for him to board and skim them.
My question is should the cavity have been closed above the window as well between the brick and breeze block like he has down the sides and along the bottom of the window. If so am l ok to use expanding foam to fill this. Also will dot and dab be ok to stick the top plasterboard reveal or should I use something like gripfill with it being a steel lintel.
Any advice please,
Many thanks,Damo
