Advice please on painting cornice

My cornice is currently painted with gloss and I am going to paint it over with eggshell. Is there anything I need to do in preparation for this or need to know about?

Also should I paint the cornice before or after I paint the walls and ceiling? Three walls and ceiling are going to be slightly lighter than cornice paint and one wall is going to be a totally different colour.

Rub it back. What type of eggshell? Acrylic or oil?

Just ask yourself if you'd find it easier to cut the wall and ceiling into the cornice or vice versa.

It is Crown Period Colours Eggshell for wood and metal. It doesn't say what type it is on the tin but it can just be washed out the brush with cold water.

That would be acrylic then!
