Hi
I want to become a joiner and would like some general advice on how to go about it. I'm not after any quick fixes, so i'm thinking of enrolling on an NVQ at Stockport College (if there are any places!!).
A good mate of mine is a Joiner and advised me to go full time at college as it may be difficult to get a work placement. I'm 26 which is why I think firms may be reluctant to take me on as an apprentice. I'm not one of these that just wants to get a few skills then go out on my own, I want to learn the trade and probably end up working for a firm.
I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but I've never wanted to give up a secure job to do it, but now my circumstances have changed and my income is so low that I can't lose!!
Thanks in advance
