Hi,

DIY newbie here...

We have a small outbuilding in our garden which we use to store the chest freezer, lawn mower etc.

There is enough room in here to put a treadmill, which is what I want to do (once I clear it all out).

As you can see from the images, it's brick and so quite cold. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make it warmer? I was thinking of some form of insulation but not sure how to go about fitting that.

It also looks like it has started leaking with the recent heavy rain so I will need to fix that also.

Thanks for any suggestions/help.

Unless you plan on putting in a heat source then insulating will do very little to prevent it from being cold. Anyway re-post in the Building section.

I have an office at the end of my garage, same thing, single skin brickwork.... I battened it out with 50mm batten, pushed cellotex in the gap and did a floating floor again on cellotex, new cieling and more cellotex - plasterboarded and painted etc.very nice now, it has no heating but I run 2 servers out there that back up and store all the family media and photos etc which run 24/7so they help keep it warm-ish...(y)

Also installed a double glazed window I took from a skip! almost new so wasnt gonna waste it.

In the winter I have a small oil filled radiator which warms it on the really cold days if I'm working out there.
