I have a compressor for running air tools, and it's fitted with a Clarke filter / regulator / lubricator unit from Machine Mart.

The air coming out is most certainly NOT dry though! In fact, today, with a blower nozzle on the end of the air line, I was getting a fine mist of oily water out of it! I hate to think what its doing to my air tools! The filter unit has an auto-drain facility but it rarely has anything in it - a few spits of water at most.

Is there something else I should have in the line to get the moisture out?

Thanks both, I understand that it should contain lubricant (though I've turned it off for the time being while I investigate this problem). I also accept that there will be a tiny bit of compressor oil in the air as well (this is a very old Hydrovane compressor, not a reciprocating one). However, what was coming out was most definitely water - it was dripping off my hand!

Yes, I drain it. It doesn't have a receiver, as such, so there's only a tiny bit of ducting with a drain tap on the bottom of it to drain. Water did come out for a fraction of a second when I opened the tap, but it made little difference to what was coming out of the blower nozzle.
