Can someone point in the direction of somewhere to buy connectors for air tools please? I have a retractable hose which has a male 3/8" NPT connector and I need to connect it to a female 1/2" BSP port on a Sealey Regulator.

The only places I have found are in America.

Also the manual says use PTFE tape on the threads. Can I use the same stuff I use for water pipes or is there a specific one for air?

Thanks

I get my air tool fittings from Machine Mart.....all mine are PCL and they have a full range in every store.
As for making them air tight? For me, blue hylomar plus ordinary PTFE tape, never fails.....
Unlike their rubber air hose - nearly took my head off when the last one burst

Blue hylomar :D , theres a blast from the past from my younger days in the motortrade

Still one of the best, mate! :p
Any gasket other than cylinder heads gets this.....
When I started, it was green or red hermetite or nowt!
John :)

Yep, water pumps, thermostat housings and rocker covers all got the hylomar treatment :D

Thanks Chaps. Machine Mart, Screwfix all seem to only stock parts with BSP fittings.

According to the Interweb the NPT fittings have different thread pitches so I can't just use the same size BSP and hope for the best.

Am I missing something? The hose reel is made by Am-Tech and is sold by Amazon. I must be able to the get the fitting somewhere.

PCL only seem to do a 1/4 NPT thread converter.

Whats the chance of cutting the original fitting off, and replacing it with a BSP one, Ian?
I've never had one come adrift, and a jubilee clip holds things together well. Something like Machine Mart 000220450, I mean.
John :)

Thanks John. I think that is the best idea. It is not going to get that much heavy use anyway and because it is the feed hose for the reel it wont ever get pulled or be under any tension.

I shall do that.

Cheers
