I committed one of the ultimate sins on Friday and went round to fix a boiler at a friends house. "What is so wrong with that" I hear you ask!! Well I do try to stay away as much as possible from doing Boiler breakdowns as I find myself increasingly having to say to people that the reason their boiler is not working properly is that it has been badly installed or badly installed and not serviced regularly.
Anyway the point of my post is this... The fault was a simple Air pressure switch exchange which was easy enough to rectify but as I took the old one off, the lower pipe (Not the red one) was blocked by a small injector size piece of brass. Now is this a manufacturers restriction (I don't do much with Potterton) or has their service engineer been trying to guarantee a bit of late night call out work..
I would like to know, for my own records as I was always led to believe through my training that both pipes should be not kinked and completely clear of obstructions.
Cheers Gents

All I can say is little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I suspect the boiler is a Netaheat. If I am correct, the positive pressure chamber has the potential to KILL. AND you do not know enough to start messing with safety components.

THINK what state you will be in if someone is dead at that site because you have unknowingly killed or injured someone because you altered the boiler in some way.
