I have 2 x 9" airbrick vents approx 14" above ground level in my lounge. There is also a gas fire with chimney flue. The property is approx 20 years old.
Do i need to retain the airbrick vents or can they be removed and closed off externally and internally?
The property is also fully double glazed.
Thanks for any advice.

get a gas engineer to do a site visit and carry out an inspection and checks, it is the only way to confirm the safe operation of the fire the vents may be able to be removed but the only way to confirm is for a gas engineer to temp block them and do safety tests, if all is well the vent can be permanenty removed, dont listen to any "should be ok" comments, or "not needed under 7kw" comments

Or do like someone did in one of my rental properties and fill it with silicone.........fu** sake.

As kirkgas says dont just guess at it.
