Airbricks making room cold, what can I do?

Hi.

Just decorating a bedroom. When we took the skirting board off, we noticed daylight coming in.

It looks like there is quite a big hole on the inside brick which lines up with the airbrick on the outside. Obviously this is making the room cold.

I'm guessing that these bricks should really ventilate under the floor?

Is there anything I can do to insulate? I don't really want to just hide it with skirting again.

It probably will be ventilating under the floor still. The tops of my airbricks are level with my floor. Cover with skirting, seal the skirting board to stop cold aid getting into the room. The air will flow under the floorboards into the sub-floor.

Be happy they don't look how mine did!

what does it look like outside? My 1930s house is just like this. I think only in more modern homes do they have periscopic vents
