Hi All.

Here's the situation.

I have three warehouses / stores in a remote location.

I want to install a panel at each warehouse. These would need to be in an external housing.

But what I want to know is, is it possible to trigger another panel from another panel?

SO lets say the alarm gets triggered at warehouse 1. It will trigger the panels at warehouse 2 and 3?

The trigger would have to be either over IP (we have a network using powerline adapters) or via smartcom.

Interested to know if there's a panel that will do this.

Why ?and how far apart are they ? Do they all have to trigger each other or is there one main unit

Powerline no good if power cut/power turned off.
More information required, distance between units
What do you mean by external housing?
Lots for equipment will work, depends on your budget.

You can go fibre optic networking using a ttl converetercom (JAK-0001) with Texecom systems but I would speak with Texecom if you want to look at that as it isn't something most installers are familiar with.

Thanks for the replies to far.

It's not possible to run new cables between each store a reason for having a panel at each store. The other is so they're all independent of each other. If I wanted to rent one of them out it would have it's own security system.

There is no particular reason to get them all to trigger at the same time other than to make a lot of noise and get multiple notifications. The location would mean that it probably wouldn't get heard anyway!

They're about 100m apart in side dense woodland.

If the siren from a site can be heard at the other sites then the link could be achieved by using the siren sound from a triggered panel to trigger the other panels

Panels could be triggered by audio detectors tuned to the audio frequency ( sound ) from the siren of a panel that has been triggered

As above.
As these are commercial properties they may require certain insurance requirements .

OK.

Here's another question. Which panels have the option of an external keypad/prox reader?

Interesting! Thanks for that.

No Bernard. …..
Texecom , you could use iprox unit outside , you could have one panel , with powered expansion units in each unit , they could all run as there own system if required

Think this comes down to what someone wants, what the system can do, what is good practice and what will be allowed.

Insurance may specify a certified system and to what grade and that could seriously impact your options.

Yes the insurance companies pretty much control what you can have. They dictate if you can have a bells only or a graded system.

Bells only your not as limited as to your options,
Graded you are seriously limited to what you can or can not do.

It's not required for insurance. It's just for our own monitoring. It's more peace of mind. It would take you an age to get in to one of these units. They were built to house munitions / high explosives, the alarm, like the CCTV we already have installed is a deterent / early warning system.

you could just have independent alarms and connect each to a master blaster, you should hear that from one building to the next.

The layout is unkown as you dont have insurance to worry about then the options depend only on the site layout and fairly sure you dont want to publish that on a public forum.

although you may not hear them internally due to nature of the buildings construction.
