Hi all
I've got new French doors being fitted at the weekend. I have an almost full tin of Alcro Bestå Fönsterfärg Trä (topcoat) which I bought for a job last year but did not end up using. So I'm planning to use that.
What I 've either forgotten or failed to realise when I bought it last year, is that Alcro/Beckers recommend using a base oil first, then their primer, then topcoat.
Here's some links:
Base oil: http://www.paint-paper.co.uk/Paint/...Transparent-base-oil-2-7-litre/prod_4230.html
Primer: http://www.paint-paper.co.uk/Paint/...-GrundfA-rg-TrA-primer-1-litre/prod_4231.html
Topcoat: http://www.paint-paper.co.uk/Paint/...A-nsterfA-rg-TrA-topcoat-3-litre/prod_16.html
I've spoken to Alcro about the base oil and they said the reason to use it is to provide the wood with moisture prior to "sealing" it with the subsequent "skins" of top coat paint.
I just wondered what people's thoughts were on the system, whether anyone here as used any or all of these paints, etc etc.....
Cheers
Max
