Aligning levers on a tap

Hi

I have just installed a couple of new taps on a sink. The taps have levers that rotate approx 90 degrees in a horizontal plane, and these allow the flow of water.

For aesthetics only, I would like the lever to align fully with the spout when in the "off" position.

I am sure this is possible, but not certain of the best way to go about it (preferably without turning the water supply off, though this may be optimistic!)

The taps are Renaissance, from Bristan

take the levers off and move them round they are on splines

I had this problem on Bristan taps but I forget the model. The splines only let you go to the nearest 20 degrees or so, so the levers can still look bad. Sorry, I don't think you can do any better. DO let us know if you find a way!

Kevplumb was right -

You can remove the levers and re-align them by removing the "hot" (or "cold") cover on the tap, removing the fixing screws and then re-aligning.

Nervous of trying this originally because there was no obvious join between the cover and the tap body

Ho hum - turned out to be very simple!

You're lucky it came close - half a spline out looks terrible!
