Hello,
I was asked by a customer to move the cold water mains feed in their kitchen about a metre and a half as they are having an extention. The floor is concrete and tiled up to just under the kick boards. The alkathene comes through 110mm or 4 inch waste pipe and then pops up into the kitchen unit. Once the extention is complete, the customer entends continuing with the tiling.
My concern is this. I personelly refuse to put a mechanical fitting onto this alkathene, only for it to be covered in cement and then tiled over. If there was a leak from that fitting, the costs and inconvienence would be great. I just do not like putting any mechanical compression fittings in areas I can not get to readily.
I have told the customer this but other than they contact the water board for help, is there any other kind of fusion welding system available to extend this alkathene pipe.
Thanks
Lee
