i am really sick and tired of paying out huge amounts for printer ink, just to see the lights on the printer go down a couple of weeks later without hardly using it, there got to be some kind of racket going on with the software inside these machines, and if you take the cartridge out to examine it you lose another light. i wish i could find some way of bypassing the chip

You didn't really think any company could develop, manufacture, distribute, retail and warranty a printer/copier/scanner for under £100 and still make a profit on the hardware sale alone, did you?

Same as mobile phones. You get the hardware for next to nothing up front, and pay for it in usage charges over a period of time.

I have HP Photosmart All in one". The ink already installed ran out very quickly. I buy alll my compatible ink cartridges from Choice Stationery. They are much cheaper than the originals and last a lot longer. When I install one I get a message on screen that says "Genuine HP Ink Cartridge installed" so they must be OK.

I just checked that website, they don't sell compatibles for that model. My mates got got the same one.

I still use an old canon i450, less than £2 a cartridge, about £3 for colour. My other mate's got a Canon wireless MP620, and I was impressed that he can get a full set of inkrite compatibles for about £15

Yes they do Deluks. I have just had some delivered. Mine is HP Photosmart C6200 and the cartridges are No.363. Perhaps your mate has a later model. He could always give them a ring.

Just a note on the continuous ink systems - They do seem good and work out cheaper than carts, BUT they are fiddly to set up and also can be messy.

I'd say unless you love messing with things, and you can get cheap good cartridges then personally I would go with them.

If you are printing shedloads and want to explore the CIS then it will save money, pro's and con's with both really.

I actually bought a set of continuous but never fitted it as it just seemed like a lot of hassle and for the amout of printing I do then it wasnt worth it (that was £30 down the drain lol).
