I have a Hoover Vision Tech VTV581NC tumble dryer which although still tumbles all the panel lights are flashing as well as a beeping sound and no heat. I did a little bit of online research and most suggestions pointed towards the heating element. I have just changed for a genuine hoover element but I still have the same problem, that is : The machine appears to start as per normal but after a few minutes the dryer stops the lights flash and the beeping starts and then the dryer starts up again but the lights and beeping remain. Throughout this period the heater was not giving out any heat at all.
I am content to have a go at fixing anything but just need a little guidance what should get my attention next to try and get this machine back up and running.

Any lights not flashing or any lights staying on.
This is an error code.

Was this what you looked up?

All lights flashing, and the online suggestions were to change the heater element, which of course didn't work :(

I do have a multi meter but would need step by step guidance. Won’t be able to do anything until tomorrow afternoon though.
Thanks

If you have no supply to either wires above then you need to check continuity of this part with your meter on resistance scale with the power off https://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/tumble-dryers/candy/thermal-fuse-thermostat-85c/133353.htm you can find it here if you look at the exploded view item 443a https://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/brands/hoover/tumble-dryers/vtv581nc-80 (31100712)/ it appears to be at the bottom of the drum toward the front of the machine. If you do not have continuity then it would suggest it has failed.

Thank you very much for your prompt and very good advice. I managed to conduct your suggested tests without electrocuting myself :sneaky:
No power recorded through the plug and socket connection. Took the front off the machine and found the thermostat fuse, and as you guessed no continuity. Have ordered replacement part and with all fingers crossed this will fix the issue.
Will update when I fit the part.
Thanks again for the advice (y)(y)
