My boiler is about 10 to 12 years old. Due to louder noise, I have removed the fan assembly from my boiler and cleaned the impellers and body. Does anyone know if I can grease the motor bearings? Any other advice how to grease it would be appreciated.
Many thanks for your reply. I have done the following:
- followed your advice.
- cleaned the fan impellers and body.
- inserted a screw onto the flue duct near the pressure sensing tubes. i.e. hole in the flue duct from day 1.
- lifted the flue hood so that it does not touch the primary heat exchanger pipes i.e. could have been metal to metal contact before.
Now it has gone back to the normal acceptable level!
