We have our hot water on constantly and the heating on timer, however the heating has decided to come on whenever it pleases. This happens even when its on water only. Fed up being cooked during the night. Any ideas as to whats wrong with the boiler.
your boiler has a frost protection thermostat and these are prone to going faulty on these boilers, it uses the primary thermistor to sense low temperatures and brings the boiler on to protect it from freezing, this is a cheap part and easily replaced but as it is contained within the combustion chamber you need a RGI to carry out the work
