Hi

God I am having a nightmare. You can see my woes if you search for "Touching Tiles". But this is a slightly different subject so I thought I would do a separate post.

I have a small area of horizontal/flat tiling, on concrete backer board, at the end of a bath, that was tanked with Mapei Mapegum. But we have had to take the tiles off, and now it is no longer 'tanked'.

I don't really want to spend £30 on a whole 5 litre tub of tanking just for a less than 0.5m2 area, so I was wondering if there are any alternative methods of waterproofing this small area. Any ideas? Or perhaps I don't need to tank it?

It is at the end of a bath, so likely to get some splashing and standing water/drips from showering and bathing, but is not directly under the shower.

Looking forward to more rescue attempts please!

if you have used a cement backerboard you'll be fine without tanking that sort of area.

Ok ace. Many thanks. So far did a halfway thing too using a rubble sack as a secondary protection behind the cement board
