Aluminium glazing bars, lean-to canopy roof

Has anyone bought/used self supporting aluminium glazing bars for conservatory/patio roof?

I have investigated the wood joist route with screw down glazing bars, but the self supporting aluminium things seem tidier... if not more expensive.

Just wondered if there were any alternatives to Alukap, which seems to tick the boxes, other than cost.

Alukap range is pretty good.

I used to buy some of that range - the xr, from the manufacturers clear amber, for timber roof lanterns.

Haven't tried the self supporting system though
