AMF Venner central heating timer

I have a AMF Venner central heating timer, which has given me years of good service (see attached photo). Recently the main dial has stopped turning. Is it possible to mend? (I would much rather this option!!) or am I embarking on a v difficult task and I should just buy a new timer??
