If you're still around, Amfisted, I think £400 is a very fair price, and you are right to have 10.0mm2 cable as it is future proof, and will have a better rating if laid against loft insulation, blah, blah blah.
I think it may have been mentioned that a round Crabtree 50 amp pull switch will accept the wiring better than a bog standard square pull switch.
Other options may be a 50 amp wall switch, typically outside of the bathroom - the longer rectangular ones will be easier to work with than the smaller square ones.
Don't let anyone persuade that you don't need an isolator switch - although you don't necessarily, they do come in handy for maintenance, and my personal opinion is that it's a rough job without one.
