Hi

We have Amtico Spacia glue down being laid this week. Flooring company came out and said they could do it over the thermoplastic tiles we have as they are all well glued down.

I have pulled up the carpet today and under the floor is not quite as good as I had expected, its reasonably flat (few small bumps where concrete is not quite as level as the tiles) but I am guessing central heating pipes were installed at some point so half the floor seems to be concrete rather than the tiles.

House is approx 1965.

I haven't spoken to the flooring company but they were adamant the Amtico can go down over the tiles, the quote says:

Primer
Ardex NA
Adhesive

Unsure on the order they are using in terms of the products but looking at this, should I reach out to them and get them to check the floor again?

Its being laid this week so its probably too late to do much but I don't want the fitters to rock up and say they can't do the job, especially as we have bare floor now.

Cheers

You can’t go over them tiles and have a amtico warranty. Also have they checked for moisture ? In most cases you won’t have a Dpm under that subfloor so it needs
tiles up
ardex NA
ardex DPM1c
primer p4 maybe
ardex NA or ardex CL
amtico.

ring Amtico and they will say the same
