Had some work done on our garage and they have removed some old bricks and put new ones down. Unfortunately they didn't remove all the old mortar and it looks like they just put new mortar on top. So now I have to remove all this mortar and repoint the outside as damp was coming rhrough this mortar. I have bought a motar removing diamond blade from toolstation, is it better to use this blade in the cordless makita or a mains powered angle grinder. Really unimpressed with this part of the job they did.

It's my sons makita and he has 4 batteries. It's just the top row of bricks on about 3m of wall. They've done a really poor job on this row of bricks.

Assuming that the tools both take the same rake / blade I’d start with the battery one.
I’d hope that one battery would do 1 1/2 metres at least.
It will probably be less powerful, but you don’t need a lot.
It will be easier to handle.
Be prepared for dust
