I’m Building an angled understairs door liner for a wc in the opening.

For the angled section of the frame can I just make use of the angled section in the frame work as is ? (Then pack it out to the depth of the frame after?)

reason being I want to keep the notch off the door as small as possible as it’s a panel door to Match other doors and don’t want too near the panel

(the frame does not in anyway support the stairs as all the understairs stud work is new)

Outward opening, yes. Inward opening, you'd need to check if the door would foul on the stair underdrawings. Personally, I'd trim the door
