A retired GP died to day in Switzerland. She had a terminal illness and had to go there to get help with an assisted suicide from Dignitas which is illegal in the UK

She said in the news that she wanted to die at home in Bath (that's the city of Bath not where she gets clean)

Very sad. it's time the law was changed to make this legal in the uk

Makes you wonder how it is that like in this instance a terminally ill person who wants to end their life is not allowed to do so, but underaged girls can get advice about abortion without their parents consent? Mix up of human rights I feel.

euthanasia endorsed by the state ...

a very grey area as I wouldnt like it legal here.....

as frail old people could be forced into it by money grabbing relatives ,pressurizing them into believing they are a burden an better off dead ..

There should be a panel of three doctors and a judge. If the patient convinces them that it is their wish and they are of sound mind - then it should be legal.

Personally, if my partner were in that position I'd help her go through with it and to hell with the consequences.
